23 OCTOBER MEETING NOTES

News & Notes

The 21 October LIT UP! was a success, drawing seventeen attendees (only two of whom were PFLers) to hear Heather Freidman Rivera, Frank Pray and Maria Alexander read their works. Maddie once again ably emceed the event.

A special Author Showcase edition of LIT UP! will happen on 11 November at Kean Coffee in Tustin. It will feature John Vorhaus, a long-time TV comedy writer (Married…With Children, Head of the Class), author, teacher, poker expert and consultant to TV producers worldwide. He’ll read from Texas Twist, the latest installment of his Radar Hoverlander con-man series, talk about his experiences in the comedy business, and discuss some of the key points of The Comic Toolbox, his how-to book for writing good comedy even if you’re not naturally funny.
