SCWA logoThe 16 September Southern California Writers Association meeting features Central Coast mystery writer Tony Piazza speaking on “Film and TV Techniques for Writing.”

Tony Piazza is an author, film historian, presenter, and skilled storyteller well-known for his passion for writing and movies. He has written four mystery novels and the memoir Bullitt Points, which is a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the classic Steve McQueen movie Bullitt. Piazza worked regularly on many Hollywood movies and television shows filmed in San Francisco during the 1970’s, including Magnum Force, Towering Inferno, and The Streets of San Francisco.

The meeting takes place at the Claim Jumper restaurant on 18050 Brookhurst Street in Fountain Valley. Doors open at 9:30 and the program begins at 10:00. Tickets are $25 for members, $35 for non-members ($30 with a reservation), and include a buffet lunch. Check the SCWA website for more information.
