SCWA: DP Lyle, “Developing Unique Voice and Unforgettable Characters,” 20 Jan 2018

SCWA logoThe 20 January Southern California Writers Association meeting features Macavity and Franklin Award-winning thriller novelist DP Lyle speaking about “Developing Unique Voice and Unforgettable Characters.”

DP Lyle, MD is the author of many non-fiction books as well as numerous works of fiction, including the Samantha Cody, Dub Walker, and Jake Longly thriller series and the Royal Pains media tie-in novels. His essay on Jules Verne’s The Mysterious Island appears in Thrillers: 100 Must-Reads, and his short story “Even Steven” is included in ITW’s anthology Thriller 3: Love is Murder. He served as editor for the Southern California Writers Association’s short story anthology, It’s All in the Story, as well as contributing the story “Splash.”

The meeting takes place at the Claim Jumper restaurant on 18050 Brookhurst Street in Fountain Valley. Doors open at 8:30 and the program begins at 9:00. Tickets are $25 for members, $35 for non-members ($30 with a reservation), and include a buffet breakfast. Check the SCWA website for more information.
