SCWA: Baron Birtcher, “Creating Suspense and Delivering the Unexpected,” 21 July 2018

SCWA logoThe 21 July Southern California Writers Association meeting features mystery author Baron Birtcher speaking about creating suspense and delivering the unexpected.

Baron was a musician and founded an independent record label before coming to writing. His first two hardboiled mystery novels, Roadhouse Blues and Ruby Tuesday, were Los Angeles Times and IMBA Best-Sellers. Angels Fall, the third installment in the critically-acclaimed Mike Travis series, was nominated for the 2009 Left Coast Crime Award (the “Lefty”) for Best Law Enforcement/Police Procedural novel of the year.

The meeting takes place at the Claim Jumper restaurant on 18050 Brookhurst Street in Fountain Valley. Doors open at 8:30 and the program begins at 9:00. Tickets are $25 for members, $35 for non-members ($30 with a reservation), and include a buffet breakfast. Check the SCWA website for more information.
