Muzeo Museum & Cultural CenterThe Muzeo Open Book Author Series will feature two events: author Nushin Alloo and illustrator Shadia Kassem on Saturday, 19 October, and author Jay Paris on Sunday, 20 October.

Global strategist, writer and former U.S. diplomat Nushin Alloo and accomplished illustrator, painter, and artist Shadia Kassem teamed to create The Adventures of Laila and Ahmed in Syria, a children’s book that follows Laila and Ahmed as they undergo a magical journey through beautiful pre-war Syria, learning important lessons about themselves and the beauty of travel.

Long-time Southern California sportswriter Jay Paris’ third book, Shohei Ohtani: The Amazing Story Of Baseball’s Two-Way Japanese Superstar, tells the incredible story of how a humble player made the journey from Japan to Anaheim while changing the game of baseball along the way.

The Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center sponsors the Open Book series at the Carnegie Gallery on 241 S. Anaheim Blvd. in Anaheim. Doors open at 12 p.m; both programs run 1-3 p.m. Admission is free, but please RSVP to Carol Latham at
