News & Notes
The members agreed that it’s useless to try to meet next Thursday (4 July) because of the holiday. The next PFL meeting will be on 11 July.
Burt reported on things he learned at the Sisters-in-Crime Crime Writers’ Conference in Pasadena on 22-23 June. He also brought a written outline of author Michael Levin’s presentation.

Casey is reading Daily Rituals: How Artists Work, by Mason Currey, a collection of short essays about how 161 artists, writers, philosophers, scientists and mathematicians subtly maneuver the many (self-inflicted) obstacles and (self-imposed) daily rituals to get done the work they love to do.

Burt said that the Crime Writers’ Conference in Pasadena is now sold out.
Casey mentioned a new product by Literature and Latte (the folks that brough us Scrivener): Scapple, a $15 tool that helps users create freeform network diagrams. The company calls it “a freeform text editor that allows you to make notes anywhere on the page and to connect them using straight dotted lines or arrows.” As usual for L&L, it’s only available for Mac right now.
