Glenda mentioned a new play at the Chance Theater in Anaheim: Seminar, a dramedy set in a writers’ seminar written by Pulitzer finalist Theresa Rebeck. The play runs through 23 October. Glenda and Burt intend to see the 22 October show in case you want to meet up with them. Tickets are $30-35 at the box office, but Burt reports finding them for half-price at Goldstar.

On 29 August, Steve J. will be one of eight competitors in “Long Beach Searches For the Greatest Storyteller” at Malarkey’s Grill, 168 N. Marina Drive in Long Beach. Each performer must tell a six-minute true story. The action starts at 7 p.m.; tickets are $12 at the door.
The 23 August LIT UP! was strongly attended by any measure, but especially so for a summer: ~36 people came to listen to authors Leonard Szymczak, Lisa Brackmann and Rachel Marks.
