19 NOVEMBER MEETING NOTES

Thirteen people attended: Burt (read three chapters from Twisted, which was Murder on the 101), Casey, Donna, Glenda, Jo, JoAnne, Lance (read two chapters from The Collection, formerly the Fake reboot), Lisa W., Maddie, Marianna (read a chapter from Red Snow, Gold Clouds), Mark H., Shari and Steve J.

The annual PFL Holiday Party will take place on 10 December at Marianna’s house. Jo circulated the food signup sheet, so you know what you’re bringing.

Glenda will lead our next dissection of How Not to Write a Novel during our 3 December meeting. Please make sure you finish Part III of the book by then. She brought in handouts to help you keep everything straight (thanks!). For your reference, the remaining readings line up like so:

Ten people attended: Burt (read four chapters from the former Murder on the 101, now Have a Good Day), Casey, Donna, Glenda, Jo, Lance (read 2.5 chapters from the Fake reboot), Marianna, Mark H., Rosie and Shari. Rosie ably led us through our first lively discussion of How Not to Write a Novel.

During this discussion, we debated the merits of adding another session at the end of the group reading, in which members would share examples of published works that demonstrate (or refute) the principles of our study book. Think about this and be prepared for another debate between now and 29 October.
